It’s hard to provide a one-size-fits all answer for this question, as it will vary depending on the size of your audience and the engagement you have with them. To give you some general advice, I would say that you should try and build a good relationship with your audience, so that when you have a new release to promote, they are likely to support you with it, whether that’s through buying, or sharing with their friends.
You could try running a contest (i.e. if people share the album on social media, you’ll pick a winner at random to receive a prize), or offer some kind of incentive for people to share your posts with their friends.
You can also use social media to build relationships with influencers and music blogs - make sure you’re building genuine relationships, and over time, you will be able to reach out to them for support (especially if you’re actively supporting what they do in return).
Other than that, you can also run advertising campaigns on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to target people who are fans of artists similar to you. There are plenty of resources and how-to videos out there that should help guide you through this process. Good luck!

This is a tough one to answer, cos it depends on where you’re at in your journey.

Do you already have an active and supportive community on a platform or multiple platforms? If so, your best bet is to activate them to be a part of the experience of getting your album out there, cos they want it as much as you do! Basically, turn your most enthusiastic ‘fans’ into your street team, asking them to share, promote, email, put up posters, etc. Research ‘street teams’ to learn more about this approach.

If you don’t have any kind of following, or not one that’s very engaged with your journey, then I would look into Facebook ads. Create highly engaging videos (the most visible content on Facebook these days), lyric videos, funny videos, etc, and get them moving by paying for some highly targeted ads.

This is not an area I have overmuch experience in, as my releases have all been very small-scale, and I have a small though passionate tribe which loves to support my art.

As with all of this, each situation is unique, and it’s up to you to be courageously creative in finding solutions to your particular challenges.

I wish you well on the journey
