This is too broad a question really to answer. Fees are changing all the time for TV shows, and especially with indie/smaller acts they are really squeezing the fees. It can really be anywhere from 0-500 USD all-in (total for label and publishing fee) to around 1-6K USD all-in for a good use.

Obviously this does not take into account residual fees that come after if the show airs around the world. This would need to be properly collected by a publishing company etc. For a big global TV show the royalties can be very substantial.

With famous or well known songs, there really is no upper limit to how much it can cost. Also depends on the territories, term, medias and context of the use.

This is of course mostly referring to the US TV show set up. In the UK we have the PRS blanket agreement, where there is no upfront fee usually and you are paid in royalties only. For a big BBC/C4 show this can be quite good, but for smaller channels or cable/Sky it can be very very low. It then becomes a matter of getting as many placements as possible for it 'all to add up'
